LG V30 release date, news and rumors

While some might argue that LG plays it relatively safe with its flagship etradesupply , the same cannot be said about its V-series devices.

However, as we gear up for the LG V30 launch it appears the company isn’t going to follow the same path it took with the LG V10 and LG V20.

While it’s likely to build the most feature-packed phone that it can, it’s looking increasingly likely that the second screen feature – that made the V10 and V20 stand out – will be dropped.

It leaves the phone looking far more similar to the LG G6 which launched earlier in the year, so it will be interesting to see how the South Korean firm manages to make the two stand out in their own unique ways.

Here’s everything we know about the LG V30 and following that, we’ve listed out exactly how we hope this upcoming release shapes up.

There’s no question about it, the LG V30 launch date is August 31.

How are we so sure? Well LG has sent out an invite for an event on that datewhich reads “Lights. Camera. Action. LG V30”.

We were already pretty confident about this after receiving a slightly more cryptic invite to an LG press conference on August 31 back in July.

LG didn’t put the V10 or V20 on sale in the UK or many countries outside of the US, so it may there’s no guarantee we’ll see a more global LG V30 release either.

However, considering the launch of the V30 is set to take place just at IFA 2017 in Berlin, Germany it may hint at a European release for the phone.

An internal document supplied to Android Authority suggests the phone will launch in Europe on September 28, and the same source claims you’ll be able to pre-order the V30 in the US from September 17.

As far as price goes, this smartphone won’t be cheap. Though this isn’t a flagship in the typical sense, you can expect to shell out flagship prices for the V30.

Details on this new phone are still filtering out, though Google might have dropped the biggest hint to its existence at Google IO 2017 when it said that it will support Daydream VR out of the box.

This, of course, means that not only will it meet spec in terms of power with the Snapdragon 835 likely to be behind the wheel, but it will be the first LG cell phone replacement to have an OLED screen since the LG G Flex 2 – a mandatory inclusion to be Daydream-compatible.

It could also apparently have upgraded audio, including a collaboration with B&O, and could be made of 6000-series aluminum and Gorilla Glass 5, with IP68 water and dust resistance and military standard protection.

We do have more information on the LG V30 display and cameras though, which we’ve detailed in their own sections below.

LG V30 camera could be the best for low-light photography. Here’s why!

It is a well-known fact that LG is working on the latest V30 iphone replacement screen , which it might unveil on August 31 during IFA 2017. We already know some of the key specifications of the device and now a new leak has emerged online, which reveals that the smartphone could have the best camera in the smartphone market.

LG V30 camera could be the best for low-light photography. Here’s why!According to a report by SlashGear, the V30 will come with a f/1.6 lens. For the unintended, the ‘f’ number is denoted for aperture sizes. Aperture is basically an opening through which the light passes to the sensor. So as a rule, as the size of the aperture increases, the camera is able to take more light, which further result in better low-light photos. Further, lower the f-stops, more will be the opening of the lens. Most of the flagship smartphones have aperture ranging from f/2.2 to f/1.7.

So, if the report is meant to be true, then LG V30 will have large aperture lens, which could theoretically make it an ideal for low-light photography. However, other factors like camera software and optical image stabilization (OIS) plays an important role as well. For your reference, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus have a f/1.7 aperture, which is considered to be wide enough for a smartphone camera. Further, the report mentions that the large aperture will be used in “normal” lens and the upcoming smartphone will take leverage of a normal and wide-angle lens, similar to what we have seen in LG G6.

Recollecting some previous rumours, the LG V30 will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 1.9GHz. The device will be backed by a 4GB of RAM and it is reported that it will come with a 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone will sport a FullVision Display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, something similar to LG G6’s display. The V30 has been subjected to various leaks in the past and it is reported to be the first smartphone from LG to feature an OLED display.

As per an earlier report by XDA Developers, the company will be ditching the secondary display on the V30. To recall, the major highlight of the LG V series is the secondary display, which is placed right above the primary screen. The screen displays quick shortcuts and notifications. However, it seems that the device will ditch this in favour of a near bezel-less display like we have seen in the LG G6 with a similar 18:9 aspect ratio.

Further, the report mentions that the iphone replacement will come loaded with an OLED panel. LG has relied on LCD display in the past and it seems that the brand is finally moving towards the OLED display panel for its next flagship device. This is in line with the previous report, which suggested the same.

LG’s X series of smartphones is expanding today

LG’s X series of iphone replacement screen is expanding today with a new offering for Comcast’s Xfinity Mobile service.

LG X Charge Xfinity Mobile officialThe LG X Charge will launch on Xfinity Mobile tomorrow, June 30th. The X Charge’s highlight feature is its battery, which is 4500mAh and will last “all weekend” according to LG.

Other features of the LG X Charge include Android 7.0 running on a 5.5-inch HD display, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras (each with its own flash), 16GB of storage, and a microSD slot. Also concluded is an octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 4G LTE connectivity.

While the LG X Charge’s spec list isn’t the most high-end around, it does have a beefy battery that should last for awhile on a single charge thanks to the X Charge’s modest spec list. Plus, it’s good to see that Xfinity Mobile is expanding its device selection, especially since most of the service’s other iphone replacement are fairly pricey.

There’s no word yet on how much the LG X Charge will cost, but considering its specs, it shouldn’t be too hard on buyers’ wallets. Full pricing info should be revealed tomorrow when the X Charge becomes available.
