Asus ZenFone 4 leaks before unveiling

The other day, Asus accidentally posted information about four upcoming ZenFone 4 models including the ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Selfie, ZenFone 4 Pro and the ZenFone 4 Max. Today, the Asus ZenFone 4 appeared on benchmark site GFXBench which revealed some of the handset’s specs. Let’s start with the 5.5-inch display, which has a 1080 x 1920 resolution. Powering the apple replacement parts is an octa-core CPU running at a clock speed of 2.2GHz. The Adreno 508 GPU is on board, which suggests that it is the Snapdragon 630 SoC under the hood.

The Asus ZenFone 4 appears on GFXBenchThe GFXBench listing also indicates that the ZenFone 4 will come with 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of native storage. While only a single 12MP camera appeared on GFXBench, there is talk of a dual-camera setup (12MP + 8MP) for the etrade supply . An 8MP front-facing camera will take care of selfies and video chats, and Android 7.1.1 is pre-installed.

While not part of the GFXBench listing, there is speculation that the ZenFone 4 will be equipped with a 3300mAh battery. In addition, a 1TB capacity microSD slot allows users to expand the amount of storage if necessary.

Asus will be unveiling its new ZenFone 4 models this coming Thursday, August 17th. The ZenFone 4 could be priced at 499 EUR for the version with 4GB of RAM. That is equivalent to $590 USD based on current exchange rates.

LG V30 release date, news and rumors

While some might argue that LG plays it relatively safe with its flagship etradesupply , the same cannot be said about its V-series devices.

However, as we gear up for the LG V30 launch it appears the company isn’t going to follow the same path it took with the LG V10 and LG V20.

While it’s likely to build the most feature-packed phone that it can, it’s looking increasingly likely that the second screen feature – that made the V10 and V20 stand out – will be dropped.

It leaves the phone looking far more similar to the LG G6 which launched earlier in the year, so it will be interesting to see how the South Korean firm manages to make the two stand out in their own unique ways.

Here’s everything we know about the LG V30 and following that, we’ve listed out exactly how we hope this upcoming release shapes up.

There’s no question about it, the LG V30 launch date is August 31.

How are we so sure? Well LG has sent out an invite for an event on that datewhich reads “Lights. Camera. Action. LG V30”.

We were already pretty confident about this after receiving a slightly more cryptic invite to an LG press conference on August 31 back in July.

LG didn’t put the V10 or V20 on sale in the UK or many countries outside of the US, so it may there’s no guarantee we’ll see a more global LG V30 release either.

However, considering the launch of the V30 is set to take place just at IFA 2017 in Berlin, Germany it may hint at a European release for the phone.

An internal document supplied to Android Authority suggests the phone will launch in Europe on September 28, and the same source claims you’ll be able to pre-order the V30 in the US from September 17.

As far as price goes, this smartphone won’t be cheap. Though this isn’t a flagship in the typical sense, you can expect to shell out flagship prices for the V30.

Details on this new phone are still filtering out, though Google might have dropped the biggest hint to its existence at Google IO 2017 when it said that it will support Daydream VR out of the box.

This, of course, means that not only will it meet spec in terms of power with the Snapdragon 835 likely to be behind the wheel, but it will be the first LG cell phone replacement to have an OLED screen since the LG G Flex 2 – a mandatory inclusion to be Daydream-compatible.

It could also apparently have upgraded audio, including a collaboration with B&O, and could be made of 6000-series aluminum and Gorilla Glass 5, with IP68 water and dust resistance and military standard protection.

We do have more information on the LG V30 display and cameras though, which we’ve detailed in their own sections below.

Nexus 5X review

If you want to give it a try, head the link below. It’s easier than ever to get your device logged into the Android beta program.

Looking for Google’s latest smartphones? Check out our Pixel and Pixel XLreviews.

TODO alt textIf you’re looking to get your hands on a Nexus 5X, you’ll need to explore around, as Google no longer officially sells its on its store. However, if you sign up for Project Fi, Google’s US-only MVNO carrier service, you can snag it at a discounted rate.

Google’s final batch of Nexus handsets comes in two sizes, and the 5.2-inch Nexus 5X is for those non-giants out there who literally can’t handle a 5.7-inch Nexus 6P or its 6-inch Nexus 6 predecessor.

The Nexus 5X is more than just a compact cell phone screen replacement at a smaller price, though. Its 12.3MP camera is able to capture low-light photos, and the specs are still fast enough for the average user.

Its reversible USB Type-C port provides quick charging, the fingerprint sensor is yet another way to effortless unlock your phone and swipe to pull down your notification panel. And possibly best of all, it’s pre-loaded with the latest stock Android software, Android Nougat, and is set to receive the next iteration, Android O.

Compromises and tough competition mean that the Nexus 5X isn’t for everyone. The Nexus 6P requires two hands to operate, but it isn’t a stretch to hold in one, making its size difference tighter and all-metal design and more powerful specs tempting.

The Nexus 5X, made of plastic, faces far stiffer competition than the Nexus 5 did back in 2013.

It’s also not quite as fast as many rivals when under pressure. Multitasking with the GPS and playing music, for example, is going to see a bit of slowdown. The same happens when the camera app loads while you’re switching from other heavy-duty applications. It’s noticeable, but occasional and by no means a deal breaker.

Easy-to-hold, priced right and feature-packed, this is the Nexus 5 reborn as the Nexus 5X, but over two years have passed since it broke cover. Is it still a worthy stock Android ETS at an unbeatable value? Let’s break it down.
